Artist Spotlight : Vang Cki

We are delighted to welcome visual artist, and 3D concept designer par excellence, Vang Cki as a featured Blind Boxes creator. Vang’s twenty year career has been studded with various landmark achievements, including notable contributions to world renowned media and gaming projects like Star Wars, Call of Duty and the 2019 Netflix production, Love, Death & Robots.

Vang’s journey is one of immense grit and determination. A rejection from a traditional art school in France didn’t deter him from pursuing his goals and he quickly bounced back with a stint as a 3D modeler at a small company in Paris, quickly learning on the job and studying voluminous training manuals on his long commutes.

His perseverance soon started bearing results as he grabbed every opportunity to learn the intricacies of 3D production through various freelance projects, honing his skills in texturing, shading, lighting and rendering.

With a solid decade of experience under his belt as well as a 2 year teaching stint at New 3dge school in Paris, Vang then focused his attention to futuristic art, and subsequently switched tracks to a 3D concept designer; a move that paved the way for projects with bigger brands and studios.

Vang has also presented his work at prestigious events around the world like THU in 2016 at Troia, Portugal and the ZBrush Summit in 2017 at Gnomon School in Los Angeles.
