Blind Boxes Announces Strategic Partnership with Yokai.Money

Blind Boxes is expanding its footprint in the Metaverse by onboarding global talent and forging strategic partnerships with vetted NFT projects and decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms. We are now excited to collaborate with Yōkai, a Binance Smart Chain (BSC) based platform with an NFT marketplace featuring Japanese Yōkai-themed collectibles.

Yōkai is the brainchild of Los Angeles-based creator Jon Snack, a multidisciplinary artist and architectural designer. Jon discovered his passion for storytelling early in life. At four, he was already drawing on large pieces of paper, populating his imaginary world with hundreds of different characters. His fascination for the interaction between man and his environment led him to pursue architecture, which in turn influenced his art when he decided to create the story around the character, Yōkai.

A Yōkai is a state of being, and a powerful force that can exist in Gods, or rest as a spirit in ordinary humans. Those following the path of Yōkai are determined to achieve a higher state of living, and a better, fulfilling life, analogous to the perspective and the conviction found in the crypto community today. How It Works

Yōkai borrows its name from the class of demons and supernatural creatures illustrated in Japanese folklore. The word is a combination of the characters 妖 (yō–attractive, bewitching, calamity) and 怪 (kai–mystery, wonder). The 3000 limited edition collection of NFTs include unique one-of-a-kind images of Yōkai by creator Jon. Depictions of Yōkai have existed since the first recorded period of Japanese prehistory, the Jōmon period (14500 BCE), and have endured to this day beyond the realm of Japan’s post-modern culture as motifs in film, media, and fashion.

The platform is built on the BSC protocol and includes a marketplace that facilitates the minting of distinctive Yōkai Mask NFTs, as well as a farming application that yields rewards in the form of NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. Thus users get the best of both worlds — utilizing DeFi functionalities on BSC with low fees and faster transaction throughputs, and getting rewarded with NFTs tradeable on proven marketplaces on Ethereum, a blockchain with significant network effects.

Users stake $YOKAI, the native token of the Yokai.Money platform in order to earn their reward token $RYO, which can be utilized to mint Ethereum -backed NFTs.
