We are ready for action! Blind Boxes Marketplace begins its Mainnet Beta roll out today. This is an important milestone we’ve reached in order to continue our mission toward building a robust decentralized ecosystem that empowers Creators, supports individual ownership, and scales creative commerce on a global level.

Curator Perspective

Blind Boxes Marketplace is a decentralized application (dApp) that enables curators to organize and launch limited edition drops of NFT collections. On this platform, the definition of curator is broad. Brands, artists, collectors, influencers, managers, and creative agencies, are encouraged to apply to be a curator.

Collector Perspective

Collectors have so much to look forward to as we begin to announce collection drops from top-tier talent including creators, game designers, galleries, brands, event promoters, and more. Collectors can browse, discover, and randomly draw NFTs from user-generated collections in a peer-to-peer marketplace. The Marketplace aims to bring the nostalgia of collecting to the NFT market, while rewarding its users with collector’s items and valuable assets.

Auction Functionality

The Marketplace is not a 1:1 auction site. In order to avoid wash trading and stagnant sales for NFT Creators, we have chosen to deploy a novel mechanism of distribution where the contents of a collection are designed to sell out. Each collection will distribute sealed packs of NFTs, one at a time. All boxes in a collection will be sold at a fixed price. Users will be able to see the assets in a collection. Yet since the boxes are distributed at random, the contents of their box will only be revealed after they purchase.

Secondary Sales

After purchasing an NFT from a Blind Box collection, users can resell the item on the platform by creating a new Blind Boxes collection of three or more NFTs. Notably, at launch, users will not be able to create resale listings containing just one NFT. We will consider adding this feature to future rollouts.

For now, anyone can create a collection with a minimum of three NFTs and publish it on the site. If you are a collector with ERC721 tokens and would like to sell your assets, you are able to create your own white-labeled collection that will be listed under the “community-created” section of the Marketplace:

April 15, 2021 appending information: We are first launching on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) to enable users to benefit from the low gas fees and faster transaction throughput on the blockchain. Integration with the Ethereum mainnet will take place in the coming week.

Mainnet Beta Launch

The Marketplace Mainnet Beta Launch will be deployed in three phases. This will allow sellers and buyers to perform a trial run on the site before transferring and purchasing NFTs. In Phase I, we will first be inviting featured Creators to access the site in order to test load NFTs and ensure the transferring of their real assets will be deployed safely and securely. Phase II will include pre-registered users who receive a private link in their inbox once Creator onboarding has ended and collections have been published. Phase III will be fully optimized public deployment.

Phase I. Creator Onboarding

The first phase will include onboarding selected NFT Creators in order to give them the lead time necessary to transfer their NFTs into their MetaMask wallet on the Ethereum Mainnet and into collections before pre-registered users are granted access. This will allow a critical period for them to test UX/UI and provide real-time feedback.

Phase II. Pre-Registered Members

Once initial creator onboarding is completed, pre-registered members will be batched and granted access to collections based on the order in which they signed up. This process begins April 15. If you would like to be a part of the action, pre-register here: bit.ly/2Q4QHCV

Beta users will be able to access and navigate the dApp, purchase NFTs, and list their own collections. With your participation, we ask that you enthusiastically test our platform, provide us with constructive feedback, vulnerability reporting and gentle criticism. In order to participate in the Bug Bounty Program, you must report bugs or necessary fixes to support@blindboxes.io with a screenshot of the issue you have identified.

This is a community-driven effort to find and report security exploits and vulnerabilities before malicious hackers can exploit them. Bugs can also include processing issues, web copy errors, or missing functionality. Our team will only accept high-quality submissions which they have not yet identified and acknowledge the first user who reports a bug that is identified by multiple bounty hunters.

Phase III. Public Users

We will issue an update once we have debugged and initiated full deployment to public users.

Which Currencies Does the Platform Accept?

Curators who publish a collection can accept either BLES or USDC. Buyers will only be able to pay using these cryptocurrencies as well. Ethereum (ETH) or major/fiat currencies such as USD, GBP, or EUR are not currently accepted in version 1.0.

$BLES

$BLES is the Blind Boxes’ ERC-20 governance token. If a curator of a collection opts to accept $BLES upon creating a collection, the 5% platform commission fee will be waived. When a $BLES collection sells out, $BLES is mined and collectors will receive a fractionalized amount of $BLES tokens.

There is no direct way to buy $BLES using fiat currency. In order to acquire $BLES, visit one of the crypto exchanges or Automated Market Maker (AMM) below. You will be able to trade listing pairs and transfer $BLES to your MetaMask wallet. This process will enable you to activate your buying power in the Marketplace.

$USDC

USD Coin (USDC) is a type of cryptocurrency that is referred to as a stablecoin. You can always redeem 1 USD Coin for US$1.00, giving it a stable price. On Coinbase, eligible customers can earn rewards for every USD Coin they hold. In order to purchase USDC, please review the options listed on Coinbase’s website.
