Rick and Morty NFTs Coming Soon to Blind Boxes

OOHWEE! Fans of the acclaimed animated, science fiction series, Rick and Morty it is time to get excited. Exclusive, never before seen art from the creator of the hit sitcom will soon be sold as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the Blind Boxes Marketplace.

About the Show

For the uninitiated, Rick and Morty revolves around the misadventures of Rick Sanchez, an eccentric and alcoholic scientist, and his kind-hearted, yet easily distressed 14-year old grandson, Morty. Rick’s disapproving attitude towards society’s ordinary conventions such as school, marriage, love, and family are counterbalanced by Morty’s naivete, and grounded moral compass, as they set upon numerous adventures across planets in Rick’s flying car.

The show has aired four seasons so far on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. The fifth season premieres on June 20, 2021.

Rick and Morty is co-created by writer, animator, producer and director, Justin Roiland, who also voices the title characters of the show. The series originated from an animated short parody film of Back to the Future, which Justin created as well.

Justin Roiland and NFTs

Justin Roiland has been an active advocate for the NFT space. In January 2021, Justin sold a series of NFTs titled ‘The Best I Could Do’ for over $1 million on the digital marketplace, Nifty Gateway. This was one of the largest sales on the platform at the time.

One of the auction’s five-minute open editions aggregated over USD $290,000 in Ether.

During a silent auction Justin also sold a unique NFT titled ‘The First Ever Edition Of Rick And Morty Cryptoart’ for $150,00 in Ether. The proceeds from the sale of his debut NFT collection were donated to Los Angeles’ homeless encampments.

Carrying forward this momentum, a series of tokenized artworks on the theme of Rick and Morty created by Justin Roiland are set to be dropped soon on the Blind Boxes Marketplace and sold using the platform’s unique gamified selling mechanism.
